Applications are open for permits to hunt on Town-owned land on Sand Mountain. Applicants must be Wythe County residents. Applications are exclusively through the Town's OpenGov online permitting system. The application fee is $25.00. Council authorized a maximum of 50 permits. Permits expire August 31, 2027. If more than 50 eligible applications are received, a lottery will be held. The deadline is 5:00 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2026. For assistance, call (276) 223-3353.
